Our Philosophy

Shuto Karate-Sellersville helps each student, young and old, progress toward their highest capability, mentally and ethically as well as physically. Karate is a protective fighting art developed in Okinawa and Japan in the 19th and 20th centuries. Dedicated practice over an extended period of time can lead to improved physical health and sense of well-being, longevity, and greater mental acuity. Our training, including solo practice, multi-person combat drills, and scenario practice and role-playing, is also designed to increase our student’s self-confidence in their ability to protect themselves and others from harm.

“What you have been taught by listening to others’ words you will forget very quickly; what you have learned with your whole body you will remember for the rest of your life.”
